Do you accept insurance?
Benefits of being a private pay client include:
- Freedom to choose the frequency and length of treatment
- A mental health diagnosis is not required
- Your personal information does not need to be shared with the insurance company
- No long wait times to get care
Where is your office located?
My practice is 100% online. Research has shown that video telehealth is just as effective as in-person sessions. Additionally, many clients appreciate virtual sessions because they don’t lose time driving and they do not have to worry about traffic, parking, or childcare. Clients love being in the comfort of their own homes and find it easier to fit therapy into their busy lives. I can work with clients who live in Arizona and California as those are the states in which I am licensed.
What are your office hours?
I have workday evening hours available to accommodate clients who can’t or don’t want to take time off work. I also have morning and afternoon appointments available on Mondays.
How much do therapy sessions cost?
The intake, or first session, is $240 and each follow-up session is $200 (50 minutes) or $120 (30 minutes). Sessions are billed based on the amount of time scheduled.
How long are therapy sessions?
Sessions can be booked for 30 minutes or 50 minutes. The number of sessions depends on the treatment and severity of symptoms but are typically between 6 and 20 sessions.
How do I schedule my free consultation?
Schedule a free phone consultation through the contact form on this website so we can discuss your needs and how I can help. If we decide that we are a good fit, we will schedule your intake appointment and discuss next steps.
What should I expect during sessions?
Before our first session, I will send you questionnaires to complete along with the informed consent form and intake form. These forms will help me to gauge the severity of your symptoms and tailor an individualized approach for treatment. During your intake, I will ask you lots of questions to fully understand your problem and how we can make effective changes. We will develop a treatment plan together.
In follow-up sessions, we will discuss behavioral and cognitive strategies to effectively manage symptoms. We will decide collaboratively how long treatment will last and when treatment goals have been met. Our last session will be a review of material that was covered and a plan you can use on your own going forward.
How often should I have a therapy session?
Treatment is generally most effective with sessions one time per week. Meeting every other week or once a month is often a good fit for clients who have made significant progress in treatment and only need a few more sessions or need ongoing support after completing evidence-based treatment.
What type of therapy do you use?
I primarily use evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Exposure Therapy. These treatments focus on identifying unhelpful thoughts and behaviors and working on changing those to feel better and live the life you want. I can also provide unstructured, supportive talk therapy if that is indicated.
What is a telehealth (online therapy) session and how does it work?
Video telehealth, or online therapy, works similarly to Facetime, Zoom, or any other video chat that you may have used. I use HIPAA compliant programs that protect your privacy.
You will need a reliable internet connection, an email address, a computer or smartphone with a camera and microphone, and a private, quiet space where you can have a session.
At the time of our appointment, you click on a link provided to you by email and a video chat will be created where we can see and hear each other. I can walk you through how to do all this in our first session or we can try during your consultation so you can see if it would be a good fit for you.
What is your cancelation policy?
I charge the full session rate for no shows and cancellations with less than 24 hours notice.
What forms of payment do you take?
I accept all major credit cards, Flex Spending Accounts (FSA), and Health Savings Accounts (HSA). I use a HIPAA-compliant, secure processing service called Ivy Pay. This service keeps the card you choose on file. You’ll be charged your session fee at the end of your scheduled appointment.
